Starwood Hotels & Resorts, the name behind major brands like W is setting its sights on significantly expanding its presence in South Florida. The chain has announced that it will be opening nine specialty hotels within the next three years.
Among the Starwood Hotels & Resorts openings, there will be a quartet of Aloft brands designed to appeal to travelers that keep up with modern technology trends as well as a Four Points by Sheraton aimed at travelers that are on a budget. Each of these hotels will be opening next year in various cities and areas throughout Miami-Dade County including Aventura, Coral Gables, and Miami International Airport.
There are also a trio of hotels expected to open in Fort Lauderdale, including an Aloft plus a Four Points. There will also be an Element hotel, best known for being Starwood’s extended stay brand. These hotels will be opening in December of this year, in 2017, and in 2019, respectively. Plans are also in store for an as yet undetermined hotel expected to open in 2018 in Delray Beacah.
Upon the opening of these hotels, Starwood will have a total of thirty hotels in Florida. The chain runs a network comprising over 300 hotels worldwide and was purchased by the larger Marriott International brand last year.
