Miami Tourism Bureau’s Flourishing Success

mbConventionCenterBusiness is booming according to The Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau.  During the past twelve months over 15 million overnight visitors contributed to a $25.1 billion economic impact in the region.  These numbers represent a significant boost of just over five percent when compared to the 14.2 million in 2014 who stayed in the Greater Miami region, leading to $23.5 billion in business.  Over 500 tourism and hospitality professionals attended the meeting held at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

Speaking of the Miami Beach Convention Center, there are $615 million plans in the works to renovate the building in 2018 with an 800-room hotel to be opened in March 2019.  These developments are expected to draw high valued conventions to Greater Miami instead of the typical trade shows, thus attracting a greater amount of guests looking to stay at one of the hotels.

Some of the other upcoming projects expected to provide hotel accommodations and attract guests include Brickell CityCentre, SkyRise Miami, and the massive Miami Worldcenter complex.

Hotels aren’t the only businesses seeing lots of guests.  The Port of Miami expects to see more people cruising this year and anticipates its record of 4.8 million multiday cruise passengers will soon be broken.  Miami International Airport also expects to achieve a record of 43 million passengers in 2015.
